Today was quite a productive day! I had my Spanish class from 8am-noon and we watched a movie, so it was really interesting! Surprisingly, my 8am classes here are so much easier to get up for. Probably because I am staying less than 1minute away from campus and am able to wake up at 7:30am haha. I often get woken up much earlier because of the sunlight entering my bedroom. I think that is something that I will start doing when I get back to the States - letting natural sunlight wake me up because I feel SO much more rested! Anyways, we had fresh pineapple with our breakfast this morning and I absolutely LOVE IT. I don't know what it is about the pineapple here. It's not as tart or sour as the pineapple in the States - it's just the right amount of sweetness.
Anyways, after class, I went to the clinic for my first day of internship! I was actually pretty nervous, but it turned out to be a great day. I didn't do much at all at the clinic. I was only there from 1-3pm because they leave early on Fridays, but I didn't mind. I just cut some forms in half and also entered some data into a computer. I did a lot of the work with a social worker, who told me what I needed to do, so I didn't really work with the doctor much. Really simple stuff, but I didn't mind it!
After my internship, one of my friends Alyssa and I went grocery shopping. It was actually a lot of fun! We went to Pequeño Mundo and Pali again (I need to venture out and explore more areas to find some other grocery stores!). Anyways, I will attach a photo of everything I bought. I got some milk and cereal for whenever I need to have lunch in between classes (I figured it is another cheap alternative for lunch besides my tortillas and PB&J!), as well as some other random snacks. I will also attach a photo of the money they have here - the colones - they are so colorful! I wish the States had money like that!
The cost of living seems to be cheaper down here. I'm not too sure though because two of my meals are prepared for me, so I don't have to pay for those. And I also don't have to pay for rent or anything like that. But from what I've bought on my own, it seems like I will have extra money to explore or go on some extra excursions. I guess we will see! I'm ready to be able to sleep in a little tomorrow morning :-) hope everyone has a great weekend!
