So this afternoon, we had a program meeting and discussed information about our first excursion coming up this weekend! I just wanted to post some information about it. We will be visiting the Arenal Volcano here in Costa Rica! We have three included excursions during this month of January through my program, and this is the first one. Within those excursions, there are additional optional tours/excursions that we can choose to do (with an added fee). I know there are a lot of people interested in where we are going, where we are staying, what other optional excursions are offered, etc... So I just wanted to post some links for everyone in case you are interested in seeing this information. Here is the link for the optional excursion I am interested in; it is a horseback ride tour that is about 2-3hours and we will get as close to the volcano as possible. I am really looking forward to that tour; just need to see if I want to choose this excursion or another one at a different location in the upcoming weekends! Here is some additional information: http://www.ticotour.com/node/52
We will be staying at a resort that is right near the volcano, called Los Lagos Hotel Resort & Spa! Here is the link to their website: http://www.hotelloslagos.com/
I am really excited for this resort because they have a lot of free resort attractions that you are able to do. They have natural hot springs, a spa, some "farms" (butterflies, crocodiles, frogs), some restaurants, view of the volcano, and other really neat things!
Also, the program I am with has an included tour that takes you around a lake that is near the base of the volcano on Sunday morning. I am doing that one as well. Can't wait for this weekend & can't wait to take a lot of pictures!
